Lack of Clean Water for Greenfield Community
Previously, Greenfield Academy had a clean water source with a solar powered water pump. However, the pump had ceased functioning, and clean water was no longer available for the school and the community around it. A local technician volunteered to repair the pump but was not successful as the pump unit and some other parts needed to be replaced.
Pump Benefits Entire Community
The donation from Luena Foundation was used to purchase and install a new water pump at Greenfield Academy’s water point. This has restored clean water access not only to the 77 learners enrolled at Greenfield Academy but also to families in the surrounding community.
