Family at Risk in Remote Community
In partnership with our local stakeholder, PARC-Uganda, we identified several at-risk families living in a remote area of Kasese. In one particular household, a widow aged 68 was caring for her three grandchildren and her 85-year-old mother. Due to the ages of the family members, they lack a reliable source of income, making it incredibly difficult for the family to meet their basic needs.
Care and Supplies Provide Some Stability
The donation from Luena Foundation was used to provide nutritious food supplies, medical care, and scholastic materials for the children, who attend Shine Preparatory School for free.
Meet our Partner Community-Based Organization
Partners for Resource and Community Connect (PARC-Uganda) is a children oriented non-profit, community based organization that provides support to marginalized communities across the Rwenzori region of western Uganda. PARC-Uganda’s mission is to be the catalyst for the global community involvement in transformation of marginalized and overlooked regions of Africa. We envision a world of equal opportunity where children live and grow without barriers and suffering regardless of race, ethnicity, location or socioeconomic status. We believe that empowering children to become leaders can facilitate and sustain transformation of their communities.
