Ecosystem Health is Critical to Family Wellbeing
For rural communities in Cameroon that rely heavily on agriculture, the rampant disconnection and destabilization of economics, environmental activities, and landscape governance undermine food security and wellbeing. Families in the Ngusi community, particularly women and children, need access to nutritional food that is part of a resilient ecosystem to sustain wellbeing for people and the land over the long term.
Agricultural Tools and Training Improve Food Security
The donation from Luena Foundation was used to provide agricultural equipment and seedlings like maize, beans, machetes, hoes, diggers, spades, and a wheelbarrow for the production of local food crops for children. The donations also purchased training materials to teach regenerative techniques on crop cultivation. The fund further supported the cultivation of cereal and vegetable crops, like maize, beans, and native vegetables, to increase food production for 50 children.
