Multiple Barriers to Children Accessing Education Consistently
The school dropout rate in Kacereere Town Council is quite high due to lack of school materials and the cost of school fees. Young girls are especially vulnerable to dropping out as they may be forced into marriage and domestic work. Girls who have been attending school often feel shy when they start experiencing their menstrual periods due to lack of sanitary pads that leads to staining of their uniforms while at school.
Supplies Improve Educational Access
The donation from Luena Foundation was used to help children go back to school with school materials such as books, pens, pencils, colored pencils, crayons, and pads for girls. Access to these supplies has promoted education for young girls and, in turn, for the whole community.
