Equipping Classrooms to Support Student Learning
We faced challenges with desks and both teaching and learning materials to ensure the pupils learn in conducive environment and to accommodate an increase in enrollment of new pupils after construction and installation of the new facilities in the school. Kanam ward has too few institutions, such as schools and health facilities, to serve the population completely, thus contributing to illiteracy and poverty. Many community members prefer to bring their children to our school to get an education; thus, we need to have the classrooms equipped.
Classroom Supplies Serve More Students
The donation received from Luena Foundation was used to procure 10 sets of furniture and both teaching and learning materials to facilitate the children’s learning. The learning conditions have improved through the use of desks, as compared to before when they were using mats on the floor. We also experienced a 10% increase in the number of children enrolled in the grade one class.
