Vulnerable Children Need Access to Education

Chifundo Epilepsy Foundation was founded in 2019 with the mission of defeating epilepsy in children and women in underserved communities. The Foundation soon expanded to offer educational programs and facilities since many children in this rural area do not have access to education. With the addition of classroom space, the Foundation can provide a secure learning environment, improve teaching and learning experiences, strengthen community engagement, and empower local artisans through labor hiring.

Classroom Completion Increases School Capacity to Serve Children

The donation from Luena Foundation was used to purchase materials and hire local artisans in order to build the roof of the newest classroom. The completed classroom roofing ensured student comfort and safety, fostering improved learning outcomes. As a community prone to flooding, these classrooms will also serve as a safe a spacious shelter for community members when needed.

Community pride and ownership increased due to direct involvement. Local artisans benefited from employment opportunities, stimulating economic growth. This initiative demonstrated the power of collaborative community development.
