Limited Reading Opportunities for Vulnerable Children
Children coming from poor economic backgrounds in Munami village are denied the joy of accessing and reading books and, in return, expanding their minds. Education is the key to giving these children a platform to a better future. We can support this by giving the children access to a community library where they can read books in different languages.
Library Access Supports Educational Growth
The donation from Luena Foundation was used to purchase 40 litres of paint, 100 chairs, and 3 tables. This allowed the community to refurbish Munami Community Library in order to better serve learners who use the library in their free time. The library is accessed by over 700 users (students and community members), and it supports equitable access to information, which means we are empowering our communities with what they need to make informed decisions about their future. The project was deemed of high importance by the community and students who are beneficiaries because it enhances education and helps improve literacy and numeracy among learners.
