School Works to Provide Education With Limited Resources
Shine Preparatory School works to improve access to education in a rural community, especially for orphans and vulnerable children and other at-risk families. Limited income streams for the organization, and the lack of adequate infrastructure, make it challenging for the school to carry out its mission effectively.
Improved Facilities Increase Capacity for Services at Shine School
The donation from Luena Foundation was used to rehabilitate and transform Shine House in order to create space to host the PARC-Uganda office, a tailoring workshop, and accommodation for volunteers. The volunteer housing currently serves as a temporary safe house for children at risk of not attending school due to distance to travel from their homes to access free education daily at Shine.
