Teen Girls Face Multiple Barriers to Security
In Luuka district, girls encounter significant hurdles including early marriage, restricted educational opportunities, teenage pregnancies, and gender-based violence. Our mission is to disrupt the cycle of poverty and empower these girls by providing them with the resources and support they need to overcome these challenges, seize opportunities, and shape their own futures.
Vocational School Provides New Opportunities for Girls
The donation from Luena Foundation allowed See Them Grow Foundation (STGF) to construct the district’s first vocational school, dedicated to providing practical skills that will enable girls to achieve self-reliance and contribute meaningfully to their communities. This new classroom block is set to become STGF’s vocational training hub, designed to serve over 250 teenage mothers, people with disabilities (PWDs), and youth in Luuka district. Our vocational and entrepreneurial training initiatives are pivotal in breaking the cycle of poverty, positioning young girls as catalysts for positive change in their communities. Additionally, we are enhancing access to basic healthcare services, including menstrual hygiene management, to help girls remain in school and realize their full potential.
Meet our Partner Community-Based Organization
See Them Grow Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that focuses on empowering teenage mothers, youths, children, and people with disabilities in Luuka District by providing access to vocational training skills and resources. The foundation seeks to fulfil the pillars of the rights of children as recognized by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4, which aims to ensure inclusive and quality education for all and promote lifelong learning by 2030.
