Growing Number of At Risk Families in Buenos Aires
Rising poverty rates in Argentina have meant that many families in Buenos Aires struggle to get by. In addition, many refugees who have fled the humanitarian crisis in Venezuela are trying to make a new home in Buenos Aires with very limited resources. Community centers and soup kitchens throughout the city do their best to assist families in need, but they need support to serve the growing number of vulnerable families in their neighborhoods.
Construction and Supplies Allow Community Centers to Improve Services
Los Actos Solidarios Se Contagian used the donation from Luena Foundation to support multiple community centers and soup kitchens with a variety of needs, including construction and roofing materials to finish building center facilities; paints, brushes, and guitars to supply new art and music workshops; soccer balls and a net; mattresses, blankets, cleaning supplies, food and drinking water for families in need; and pandemic supplies, including masks and disinfectant. Los Actos Solidarios Se Contagian has also leveraged support from companies including Empresa Sky Online, which donated several computers, and SEB Group, which donated kitchen sets, school supplies, toys, gas, industrial stoves, and a 120 litre pot for cooking. The donation from Luena Foundation helped to transport these items to several of the community centers.
