Multiple Barriers to Education in Liberia
Liberia is still navigating the long-term impacts that the extended civil war, the Ebola outbreak, and the lack of sufficient facilities and trained teachers have on education. New Vision Christian Academy serves students in a remote area with limited access to resources. Since the beginning of the 2024-2025 academic year, the school has lacked textbooks to support instruction and has struggled with resources to feed students during the school day.
Critical Resources to Support Children in School
The donation from Luena Foundation was used to purchase and transport food and textbooks to New Vision Christian Academy (NEVICA). In addition to supporting instruction, this allows NEVICA to feed the students twice a day for two and a half months, which has been the biggest challenge this year.
