School Needs Help to Support Child Education and Safety
Pineapple Children’s Home Project operates a nursery on Lake Bunyonyi and, with support from donations, is gradually expanding to serve more students with a primary school. Lake Bunyonyi is one of the deepest lakes in the world, yet crossing the lake by private, often poorly equipped boats is the only means of transport to the communities that surround the lake. This puts community residents at high risks of drowning, including little kids who need to access education.
Expansion and Supplies Serve More Students
The donation from Luena Foundation was used to finish construction of some school classrooms, to build a school kitchen to provide meals for students, and to buy food and life jackets, which help to improve our swimming lessons in the community.
