Barriers to Affordable Healthcare and Education in Kasese District
Health challenges – such as disease, parasites, and hunger – can become barriers for students and their families during the course of a school year and, over time, become a real obstacle to a student’s ability to complete school.
New Supplies Support Student Health and Nutrition
The donation from Luena Foundation was used to purchase supplies, medical drugs, and reagents for use at Ryan Lam Clinic and to purchase food supplies for Shine Preparatory School’s school-based food program. This helped Shine scholars, their parents, and staff at Shine/PARC-Uganda and the entire community to access timely healthcare at Ryan Lam Clinic, as well as enabling all children attending Shine School to get two nutritious meals each day.
