Effective HIV Care Requires Access to Healthcare and Nutrition
Access to quality healthcare is essential for the well-being and survival of orphans, vulnerable children, and disadvantaged community members. However, many face significant challenges in accessing medical care due to financial constraints, limited healthcare facilities, and inadequate medical supplies. In addition, proper nutrition is crucial for the health and recovery of children undergoing medical treatment, especially those affected by chronic illnesses, malnutrition, or living with HIV. Many vulnerable children face severe food insecurity, which weakens their immune systems and reduces the effectiveness of medical treatments.
Mobile Clinics Facilitate Effective HIV Care
The donation from Luena Foundation was used to provide primary healthcare support, including HIV testing, counseling, and treatment, via mobile clinics. These clinics reduce child mortality rates and enhance the quality of life for people living with HIV through access to Antiretroviral Therapy (ART). It was also used to provide therapeutic foods to children undergoing medical treatment, ensuring that they receive essential nutrients that improve recovery rates and reduce cases of severe malnutrition.
