Lack of Educational Facilities in Olasi

Access to education in this region of Kenya is very limited, with only a small minority of Migori County residents completing secondary education. Investment in educational facilities, qualified teachers, and materials to support learning is needed to allow vulnerable children to enroll and attend school consistently.

Finished Classroom Facilitates Learning for Vulnerable Children

The donation from Luena Foundation with the Judith Andrews Foundation was used to build a classroom to serve the educational needs of the children in our community, particularly those who are vulnerable and underserved. Material costs were reduced by collecting and repurposing stones and sand from within the property, and volunteers worked tirelessly to help with various tasks, including foundation work, blocklaying, and general construction.
