People With Disabilities Face Barriers to Public Participation
Disabled women in rural Uganda do not have easy access to education. Empowerment and advocacy can support them to participate fully in community life and secure their future. Evelyn, who is blind, is now 23 years old and hopes to continue into higher education after she completed her advanced secondary school level.
School Fees Support a Young Woman’s Future
The donation from Luena Foundation was used to pay part of Evelyn’s advanced secondary school. Evelyn’s continued education is empowering her to break the stigma surrounding disability and supporting her to fully participate in community building through leadership, edutainment, and advocacy using songs.
