Lack of Medication Leaves Children Vulnerable
Chifundo Epilepsy Foundation, a local nonprofit organization, is dedicated to defeating epilepsy in vulnerable children in underserved communities. Our mission is to provide comprehensive support, including medical care, education, and social support, to children with epilepsy and their families. Epilepsy is a significant health concern in our community, where limited access to medical care and social support exacerbates the challenges faced by children with epilepsy. Our organization is committed to addressing these challenges and ensuring that children with epilepsy receive the support they need to thrive. By providing access to antiseizure medication, we aim to reduce the frequency and severity of seizures, minimize the risk of epilepsy-related complications, and improve the overall quality of life for children with epilepsy. Our project is designed to have a lasting impact on the lives of these children and their families.
Medication Supports Health, Safety, and Quality of Life
The donation from Luena Foundation was used to purchase essential antiseizure medication for 100 children with epilepsy. Children who received the medication have shown a significant reduction in the frequency and severity of seizures. Parents and caregivers have reported that their children are now able to attend school regularly, participate in social activities, and engage in physical play without the fear of seizures.
